Account Information: Email address and password for authentication.

Child Profiles: Nickname, avatar (no real names required), age mode preference, and optionally date of birth (used for age-appropriate features).

Financial Data: Transaction records (allowance, chores, spending) that you choose to enter. This is educational tracking data, not real bank information.

Device Information: We collect device identifiers, operating system version, and app version for analytics, error tracking, and push notification delivery.

Usage Data: We collect app interaction data (such as screens viewed and features used) to understand how the App is used and to improve the experience.

Crash and Performance Data: We automatically collect crash logs and performance diagnostics to maintain app stability and fix issues.

Push Notification Tokens: If you enable push notifications, we store your device push token to deliver notifications. This is optional and can be disabled at any time.

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS)
  • Row-level security (users can only access their own data)
  • Secure authentication

4. Children's Privacy

This App is designed for parents to use with their children. We take children's privacy seriously.

Information Collected About Children: OwlyBank allows parents to create profiles for children. We collect:

  • Child nickname (real names are not required)
  • Avatar selection
  • Age mode preference
  • Date of birth (optional, for age-appropriate features)
  • Transaction records entered by the parent

We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, or other personal identifiers from children.

Parental Consent: By creating a child profile in the App, you, as the parent or legal guardian, provide consent for us to collect and store the information listed above for educational purposes only.

Parent Rights: As a parent or guardian, you may at any time:

  • Review all data associated with your child's profile
  • Request corrections to your child's data
  • Delete your child's profile and all associated data
  • Withdraw consent for future data collection

Third-Party Service Providers: Anonymized usage data and crash reports may be processed by our third-party analytics and error tracking service providers to help us improve the App. These providers are contractually bound to use the data only for the purposes we specify and in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Children's profile data (nicknames, transaction records) is not shared with analytics or advertising services.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — View all data we have about you
  • Rectification — Correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure — Request deletion of your data
  • Portability — Export your data
  • Object — Object to data processing

6. Data Deletion

You can delete individual child profiles or your entire account at any time. When you delete:

  • Child profile: The profile is removed immediately. All associated data is permanently deleted.
  • Account: All data including household, children, and transactions are permanently removed.

Please note that anonymized analytics and crash data already processed by our third-party service providers may be retained according to their respective retention policies.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share data with the following categories of third-party service providers, solely to operate and improve the App:

  • Infrastructure providers — for hosting, database, and authentication services
  • Analytics providers — to understand app usage and improve the experience
  • Error tracking providers — to detect and fix crashes and performance issues
  • Email delivery providers — to send informational emails
  • Push notification providers — to deliver push notifications to your device

All service providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may only use it for the specific purposes we authorize. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights or safety.

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use local storage to maintain your login session. We use analytics and error tracking tools to understand how the App is used and to maintain its stability. We do not use third-party analytics for advertising purposes. We do not serve ads in the App.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App.
